The research project of the "Intellectual Heritage of the Ancient Near East" examines the cultural, linguistic and literary relationships between the Middle East and the West, in particular the relationship between the Middle East and ancient Greece. The five-year program (2010-2015), part of the "Finland Distinguished Professor Program", founded by the "Academy of Finland", is based in the "Department of World Cultures" at the University of Helsinki.
